The Color Run™ 5k is going down in Omaha, Nebraska May 25th, 2013 and the Habitat YP is once again their sponsor charity! We need volunteers to help runners and participants have a ton of fun. You raise money just by showing up!
As a volunteer for our group, you can have fun getting colorful and getting a chance to color the runners as they pass, this is a great opportunity to participate if you don’t want to run. For those who would rather not get colorful during the day, we have positions for Check-in, Water Stations, and General Festival Help.
Can’t help out that Saturday? We will be assembling participant packets and handing them out to the runners as they check-in. This will be all day Thursday (5/23) and Friday (5/24) at Scheels in Village Pointe.
The first step in volunteering is to sign up with the Color Run. PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE SIGNING UP AS A PARTNER CHARITY VOLUNTEER OR YOU WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS OUR GOAL! You won’t be able to sign up for a particular shift or station yet, but we’ll be in touch soon.

Hello Habitat YP!
It is already March! I can’t believe it. That means that if you are an active member we will be looking for your dues if you have not already paid. The dues for 2013 are $35 and we are suggesting a donation of $15. This money is very important to the group. It defrays some of the cost that Habitat incurs to support us, helps fund recruitment events, and allows us to offer unique opportunities to our members, such as travelling to the National Habitat YP Conference. One of our goals for dues is to be able to fund Global Village trips for our members or send members to Habitat on the Hill to advocate for affordable housing. The money paid to dues allows all of the fundraising event income to go directly to support Habitat programs.
Please consider paying dues even if you are not currently an active member but please also consider becoming an active member! For your convenience, we’ve attached the 2013 membership application form. We would love to have your support.

Just a quick note that you still need to buy a ticket if you are volunteering during the event, but I can tell you from personal experience that there is still plenty of time to enjoy the event while volunteering. – Kevin
